Finocchio Guitar Building ClassDuring the past 20 years, well over 400 students have passed through Frank’s 7-day, hands-on workshop. Frank currently hosts hands-on workshops several times a year in his fully equipped studio/workshop in the historic district of Easton, Pennsylvania as well as classes at the Brookfield Craft Center in Brookfield, Connecticut. Frank offers classes for acoustic flat-top guitars, archtop guitars, classical guitars, and archback acoustic guitars. In addition to the classes Frank offers, he is available for individual instruction. Frank can accommodate to your busy schedule if the exact dates below do not work for you.

Selmer Style Gypsy Jazz Style Guitar

Skills taught include: The art of side bending, brace making, neck making, slotted headstock, neck fitting, learn to use hand tools (chisels, scrapers, hand planes, and sharpening.) This unique gypsy jazz style guitar features an oval sound hole, vintage appointments and construction. These guitars are generally constructed using laminate sides and back. This class will feature brazilian rosewood back and sides, red spruce top, mahogany neck with adjustable rod, and an ebony fingerboard. You will have gained the ability to make a finely crafted, high quality musical instrument; your own guitar.

Skills taught include: The art of side bending, brace making, headstock design and custom inlay, neck fitting and correct geometry for optimal playability, top-plate joining, cutting and installation of rosette, and learn to use hand tools (chisels, scrapers, hand planes, and sharpening.) This guitar will feature an arched back for improved sound and projection (patent pending process.) You will have gained the ability to make a finely crafted, high quality musical instrument; your own guitar.

Individual Instruction

We will accommodate busy schedules and teach guitar building one on one. Repair classes are available throughout the year covering neck resets, crack repair, neck straightening, refretting, set up, internal brace repairs and much more.

Cost $450.00 per day.

A deposit of 1/2 the total cost is required to attend and reserve your place in a workshop. Refunds/Cancellations: A one-time fee of $50.00 will be withheld for administrative costs.
