Guitar Building Classes

During the past 10 years, well over 400 students have passed through Frank’s 7-day, hands-on workshop. Frank currently hosts hands-on workshops four (4) times a year in his fully equipped studio/workshop in the historic district of Easton, Pennsylvania as well as classes at the Brookfield Craft Center in Brookfield, Connecticut.

Skills taught include: The art of Side Bending, Brace Making, Tap Tuning of Plates, Neck Fitting, Learn to use hand tools, chisels, scrapers, hand planes, and sharpening. You will have gained the ability to make a finely crafted, high quality musical instrument; your own guitar. Cost $3,250. Sign up!
archtop Archtop Workshop
Nine days (two weekends and five workdays).  Students will carve top and back plates, make and fit braces, as well as make and design "f" holes, necks, finger rests, tail piece, bridge, headstock.  Fret work and all set up procedures to meticulous detail.  Design, cut and inlay pearl to complete this very fine arch top guitar. Cost $4,750 for 7 day workshop, $8,500 for one on one 9 day workshop. Sign up!
Mandolin Mandolin Workshop
5 day workshop building a n "A" style mandolin. We'll cover bending the sides, joining the top and back, making the neck, Oval sound hole, rosetting, making the fingerboard, to fretting , making the bridge. The most comprehensive 5 day mandolin building course anywhere. Cost $2,000. Sign up!
Class Individual Instruction
We will accommodate busy schedules and teach guitarbuilding one on one. Repair classes are available throughout the year covering neck resets, crack repair, neck straightening, refretting, set up, internal brace repairs and much more.

A deposit of 1/2 the total cost is required to attend and reserve your place in a workshop. Refunds/Cancellations: A one-time fee of $50.00 will be withheld for administrative costs.
